CASS NEEDS A NEW HOME AND FAMILY Cass is A 3 YR OLD MALE, NEUTERED gsd. He is very good with cats. He seems to be very interested in other dogs as far as wanting to play and he tends to favor women over men. He did fine bonding to a male but like the ladies. We recommend no small kids they make him very uneasy very nervous. He would be best in a home where the person spends as much time as possible with him. He loved car rides, so taking him is no problem.
He does need obedience training. The foster has been working with him on not bolting out a door because he gets very excited. Our recommendation is to crate him when people arrive and then let him out to greet them. He is very strong, even though he is 75 lbs, he needs a pinch collar to walk on a lead. is very strong so we have been working with him on calming him down. He has no idea what a toy is. The foster bought him a stuffed squeaky squeaky plush toy which he uses for comfort at night. He just sleeps with it. It does give him comfort. He does talk a lot. He doesn't like being left alone and exhibits a bit of separation anxiety. If somebody's home more than being out, he would be far happier.
He had some skin issues and he is almost done with his skin medication. His skin is still flaky and should be treated with medicated shampoo and oil rubs where necessary. He had a bad yeast infection when he arrived but that is almost gone. We do give him some Benadryl if he is itchy.
He is available immediately.
