BIRDY AKA PIPER HAS A NEW HOME NEW NAME SKADI PUPPY BIRDY AKA PIPER AKA SKADI came into the rescue as a stray on 7/27/23 and was spayed and given all shots and a chip[. She was about 6 months old then and now he is about 1.25 yrs old. She is quite sweet but needs basic skills training. SHE WAS ADOPTED BUT RETURNED 10/18/23 AND IS NOW AVAILABLE AGAIN. The reason for her being returned is that she and their older male just stopped playing and have developed a friction between them. This was not the case for the last 6 months but it has become a problem and she is being returned. She is food motivated and housebroken, people and selectively dog friendly. She would best be an only dog. She had not experienced the real world when she first left here but now she is a bit more worldly. She remains a bit scared of things until she is shown they will not hurt her. She knows basic commands, is learning to be dog social, but very people friendly and affectionate for sure. She was not abused, and in my short 1 hr session with her, she took treats well and was extremely happy to be praised and petted. She is about 60 pounds and conventional black and tan. The person who did adopt her failed to follow thru with the required training and now Piper is a bit reactive. We tested her back on 10/18 and in 30 minutes she was ready to meet and play with other dogs. If a puppy is right for you please fill out the application forms on the net and contact me asap.
