WALTER HAS A NEW HOME AND FAMILY WALTER came into the rescue from Northern FL: as a street stray back in Feb 2023. He was dumped in a high kill area (where farmers shoot dogs) who venture into their property to protect livestock. He found his way to a family who immediately realized he was a fabulous dog but could not keep him. They did search for 2 weeks to find an owner with no luck on any social media pages, vets and word of mouth in the area. I received the call from them and we took him in this 2/23/23. Walter is a sweet super friendly and affectionate dog. He loves cats, dogs and especially people and would make a fabulous pet for any family. He has all shots, HW Neg, chipped neutered. He is really untrained but totally responsive, housebroken and affectionate. He had zero accidents with the family that found him originally. He is in foster now with another friendly shep (male) and he seems great. He is engaged and eager to interact with everyone. He weighs about 80 pounds and he was well cared for. He is a combo between black and tan and sable, a handsome mix coloration. He appears to be about 3-4 years old.
UPDATE
Walter was adopted out to a family and they have decided that they wish to return him because he has a pancreas issue and needs meds and a probiotic on his food. Their decision prompted us to take him back and deal with his medical; issues ourselves. He will be entering a foster home and he will see a vet in the coming days. They did attempt to treat the issues but unfortunately they decided to return him. He is a fabulous calm sweet boy who would be a fabulous companion for any family.
