HARRIS HAS A NEW HOME HARRIS is a 3-4 year old neutered male, black and tan semi long hair GSD. He was with a family in a home and suddenly they were gone and he was left to die in the apartment???? He was rescued by a neighbor who recovered him and, called me, and then brought him down. He was discovered in Tampa. He was neutered on the 21st of Sept and then given all shots. He was well loved and well cared for, that is a certainty. He was well socialized and trained and he is housebroken and appeared to be great with kids and dogs. He was adopted out but as he became well and comfortable with the family (and small kids) he showed himself to be a bit rambunctious and that was too much for the family and he was returned. He was groomed on arrival and did well with his bath. He is crate trained and very calm and content to be loved. He weighs about 65 pounds. Harris is HW POS, which means we will treat him for the disease once adopted at our expense but at one of two of our clinics. He has started his 30 days of doxy, then we will follow the fast kill protocol and bring him to out clinic in Pt Charlotte for the remainder of his treatment. In assessing him, now that he has been with a family for a few weeks (and was with out foster for a week) we can see his personality does require a more firm hand and some basic training to assert the owner as alpha and for him to learn his place in the home and family.
