GENTLE ZOEY HAS A NEW HOME ZOEY was turned over to us today 2-18 and is being fostered in Punta Gorda. She is available for immediate adoption. Zoey is a spayed 2 year old female, 90 pounds apx, light tan and black GSD. She is affectionate and seems to have a greater affinity towards women, but warms up to men once she is on a lead and they pet her. She has all shots, hw neg and she is housebroken. She knows some basic commands but overall needs socialization training and more obedience. She is a bit fearful of things she doesn't know but when shown she is then ok with stuff. She is a sweet dog that came from a good home and was turned in due to the work schedule of the prior owner. After a day and a half of observation we did see that she can get food aggressive when there are multiple dogs taking a treat from the same person at the same time. We also can see that if she went to a home with multiple dogs she would need to be fed in a crate because we do see definite signs of food aggression. Beside her issue with food, she is great with other dogs and cats when no food is present. He owner had her on downers to keep her from becoming excited when she left for 12 hr shifts. This was not disclosed when she was here but was disclosed when she was dropped at the foster home. It is no big deal but I will remove her from meds immediately since she isn't along at all now.
