WALDO FINALLY HAS A NEW FAMILY TO CALL HIS OWN WALDO came into the rescue the week of 12/5 but he was in poor shape. He had an eye infection, ear infection and some skin issues besides being POS for Heartworm. What a mess! WELL NOW HIS PROBLEMS ARE CLEARED UP AND HE IS GETTING TRAINED.

UPDATED 12/29/2019:

The power of love can transform us all. In the case of many of our rescue dogs, love is the medicine that brings them back from the brink to what can only be described as a new life. WALDO has made the most fabulous transformation possible. From a HW Pos weak, depressed and sickly dog to a vibrant, engaged, loving dog that has won over my heart.... and if yo meet him he will win over yours. Waldo probably isn't going to be great with some other dogs, but he is fine with many of them. He is basically passive but with a high prey drive. He visited me today and i had the chance to spend 30 minutes with him before he went to a temporary foster. Dale, his foster, has worked wonders with him. His infections in eyes and ears is gone. He has done very well in training, he is house broken, obedient and really engaged in life. He is affectionate and seeks out attention as soon as yo meet him. Waldo is a great dog deserving of a great family. If you are an older person looking for a companion or a family who wants to help this 7-8 year old boy, please reach out for us. You will NOT be disappointed.

We put him in a foster home where he had good food, lots of medical care and love... and he has flourished. He is going through some basic obedience training and doing excellent. He was already great with people and dogs, untested with cats. He is house broken and not destructive. He is quite engaged for an 6-8 year old dog. He weighs in at about 85 pounds and he is a big handsome male. We neutered him last week and began his heartworm protocol for Doxy and he will get his shots according to the vets plans. He is a great dog who was dumped in the Cleweston area. He is now chipped and his infections are resolved. Once I have newer photos I will post them but these were at his intake and a few 12/23. To see some of his training videos please look at the FB page swflgsd-rescue to watch the video.
