ROKO HAS A NEW FAMILY ROKO came into our rescue on 7/20/19 and was a street stray. He had lived on the street for over a month but was definitely someone's family dog until they dumped him. He did have a chip but the people changed their number and there was no such address.
He was taken in by one of our rescue volunteers and delivered to us.
ROKO's name is what was on the chip, hence we knew that but not much else. He is probably HW POS, although we will not know that until he sees the vet next week. He is also in-tact and that too will be addressed once he get healthy.
ROKO is emaciated and you can see all of his ribs. He is now in foster care and we are going to get him well and then address all of his medical issues.
The most important thing about ROKO is that he is a lover. Even though he has been through hell and back, he is still unbelievably affectionate and responsive to people and dogs. He does chase cats. We tested him with cats and he was OK but he did chase some at the first foster we placed him with. He is now in Venice and there are no cats there.
Roko is a black and tan GSD who weighs about 45 pounds and who should weight 75 pounds. He is on a special eating regimen where we feed him 5 small meals a day plus special foods for his skin and coat and to put on some needed fat. He is house broken and trained and walks well on a lead. He is happy, which is the key to his recovery.
If you think ROKO could be the dog you want to love, please call for an appointment to meet him.
