HANDSOME LEON HAS A FOREVER HOME LEON came to us with brother Max5. His owner has passed on and they were left with a dear friend who has sought help from us to place both dogs. As luck would have it we placed Max5 with a fabulous family where he is loved and doing very well. His brother Leon was a bit more problematic in placing as he was a wild child with other dogs. Leon has now spent time in training and boot camp at of all places "Capnip Trails" and he is flourished. His current owner and trainer wrote:
As for Leon, he’s still here and still progressing nicely. He’s an incredibly affectionate dog and loves belly rubs and playing with toys. He’s still intimidated by big dogs and certain little ones. He’s also intimidated by men, but will settle once he knows you’re not going to hurt him. He may have had some abuse in his past – it’s a mystery. He’s a smart & happy dog – eager to please his humans and learn new tasks. He will sit & stay on command (and does so before going through a door or receiving a meal), is mostly consistent with Leave-it and Come. He was gentle with a 9 yr old girl (who is very dog-savvy)… not sure his reaction to smaller kids or those who are not respectful of big dogs.
His ideal home would be a single woman, older (settled) couple, or small family who has lots of time to rub his belly & throw his ball. A fenced yard and lots of treats would be preferred. I want him to stay somewhat local so he is not going on transport with multiple drivers.
Because he is a large dog, about 85 pounds and powerful, he needs a family who understand his issues and can help retrain him to be a better and more social dog. He is HW Neg and in good physical health. He is all white and quite handsome. If Leon strikes a fancy with you and your family feels you can work with him then I suggest a meeting. he is currently
