HANDSOME AND SWEET OREO AKA BRODY HAS A NEW HOME AND FAMILY
We heard from the family who originally owned this dog. They could not keep him and he was given to the family who dumped him on the street. We found his exact age as 1 year 2 months old and that he isn't great with cats. OREO as we named him was found wandering on a road and was brought into rescue. We have learned his original name was BRODY. He was full of fleas, twigs and burrs and was under weight and a basic mess. He has a great outlook and personality and with such a great temperament will make a great dog. He is untrained but appears to be housebroken, He is a dominant dog but with a bit of training will make a fabulous pet to any family. He loves people and accepts most dogs on face value. He is yet untested with cats but is getting a trial by fire this evening as he is in a foster with cats. We do not feel he should be housed with cats and would be best as an only dog until he is socialized properly. He like to play ball and does jump into you lap which is not so good as he is a very large dog. He loves being groomed and will tolerate most anything just as long as your hands are on him. We cleaned him up, neutered him and have him all shots. He to be about 14 months old and we do feel he is predominantly a long hair GSD but with a touch of possibly husky in him which accounts for his colors, white beard and socks!
This is a great family dog and we are looking for a special family to adopt him. He weighs about 70 pounds and can easily gain another 20 when he begins to grow again. We do not know how long he was out on the road but he lost a considerable amount of weight and is regaining that quickly. If Oreo aka Brody is of interest to your family give us a call as he will go fast.
