EDDIE HAS A NEW FAMILY EDDIE is handsome 5 year old sable male GSD. He is being re-homed because of a divorce and relocation issue. He is truly loved and has always been treated well in a quality home with good leadership. He is quite bonded to the male in the family and is quite protective of this /relationship. He has been exposed to kids and has done well but did not live with small children.
When you first meet Eddie he is quite aloof and detached from anyone else in the room but his 'daddy' He is protective of his owner and their house and car but is easy going and does like other dogs. He was tested with our 'test' dog and he did well. Rudy our evaluator dog said he was OK which tells me he is just that type of dog who is not super social but tolerates new people and dogs but doesn't go seek out others than his immediate family. I do believe that Eddie will adapt well in a new home but with strong leadership and compassion for his situation. Understanding him must be combined with leadership so that he becomes confident of the new living structure and family unit. Of course training will help immensely to smooth out any bumps in the road.
Eddie was adopted from a breeder in NC who breeds working dogs. he has a high ball drive and loves his big ball. He needs more exercise than he gets and he could loose a few pounds. He is neutered and has all shots. Before being adopted he was trained in English and German and knows all commands and does them very well. Training for the new family would not be for the dog but for the training team that would help the new family establish a rapport with him to ease the transition. Eddie weighs about 100 ponds and is in good health, HW Neg and has al shots. If you think Eddie would be right for your family give us a call.
