BUSTER NEEDS A NEW FAMILY BUSTER AKA BARK AKA BARKLEY has a weird past. His owner left on an extended trip and the son who was supposed to care for him decided that the dog had to go and turned him into the LCDAS as an owner give up. We really have no idea if the actual owner (the dad) even knows his weird son turned the dog in. regardless that's how we got him.
Buster is about 4 years old. He was well cared for. We even saw he had dental work because a tooth was removed from the side of his mouth. He is HW neg and was neutered. He was adopted by one of our foster parents who has 3 little dogs. After a few days time we found he is easily spooked by small dogs and therefore is not suitable for a family with 'littles'. He is great with people and big dogs. He likes GSD's, labs etc but super small dogs just doesn't work with him.
Buster was chipped and the name on the chip was BARK. His foster parents have tried a few names such as Max and Barkley and he seems to answer to most anything so long as he gets petted when he come to you. Besides BARK being a stupid name, he doesn't know it anyway, we think that any name will do. I named him Buster because that's the first B name that came into my head. He is a handsome black and tan male GSD with a defined saddle and a great head and ears. He is solid and weighs about 85 pounds. He is social with dog and after being introduced to 4 of them he had no reaction. He was fabulous at Lowes and spent most of the day last week there. he had everyone petting him. He also had no reaction to any of the barkers at the shelter. He has what appears to be good hips and he is untrained. We know that he knows how to sit on your foot and give you soft eyes for affection. We do believe that he was a house dog and we have confirmed he is house broken. He did want to pee on every surface he could find outside and his kennel was clean. He had no accidents over these last few days in foster which is where that indication comes from. He has had no training and doesn't seem to know any commands. He walks extremely well on a leash and is social with people and larger dogs. He was tested with cats and is way too interested. He takes correction well. If you think Buster would make a great addition to your family, and you will be willing to take him to training, then by all means call me for an appointment to see him. He will be housed at our N Ft Myers foster home until wqe return from over seas.
