SOCIALIZATION AND OBEDIENCE TRAINING IS NOW AT OUR NORTH FT MYERS FACILITY LOCATED AT 6230 MELLOW DRIVE
MELOW DRIVE AND DEL PRADE ARE THE SAME STREET ONCE YOU TURN DOWN DEL PRADO TOWARD SLATER ROAD.
OUR TRAINING FIELD HAS ALL EQUIPMENT.
YOU MUST SIGN UP IN ADVANCE TO ATTEND BUT CLASSES ARE OPEN TO EVERYONE AND ALL BREEDS AND SIZES OF DOGS AND OWNERS! RESCUE DOGS OF EVERY BREED NEED TO BE TRAINED
When you first rescue your new pup, remember both of you are adjusting to one another. Training builds the bond between you and enhances the love and respect necessary for both you and your pet going forward
Your pet may already know the basics, but he still needs training. Often times he doesn’t understand instructions when these commands come from you and not his prior owner hence training bridges that gap
Training is fun for the dog and for your family. It provides the mental stimulation and physical exercise the dog needs. There is no replacement for socialized training
Training helps your new pet to integrate seamlessly into your home and family and will pay dividends for his entire life
You can achieve certificates in basic obedience, advanced obedience and Canine Good Citizen with us
We also offer more advanced agility training on our on-site equipment
We will provide basic obedience and socialization training to any breed of dog so long as the dog has all shots and their handler is physically able to do the work
Our training costs $165.00 for 6 weeks of classes
Classes run from 3pm to 5pm on Saturday’s and from
9:30 to noon on Sundays, weather permitting and can be joined anytime
Classes are outside, on our property, and taught by 2 qualified and experienced instructors. Home training is also available
Basic classes are done on a leash and advanced classes can be done off lead based on the ability of the dog and handler
Classes are in an open format that allows each dog to get individual training while in a group of 5-15 dogs so that their social skills are tested while receiving commands and direction from the owner and trainer
Our positive methods are exceptionally successful and will show clear results when combined with practice
THE PROCESS:
To join a class, simply call us at 1 239 633 5844 and ask for Rusty Graham
Fill out our application on site and bring the dogs records with you
You will provide Southwest K9 Services with a check or cash in full payment prior the classes beginning
You are not charged for missed classes, but without a consistent approach to training and at home practice, learning is considerably slower and less immediately effective
Problem issues are always welcomed and can be handled at class sessions such that everyone can benefit from the proposed remedy
We do not expect perfect dogs coming to class, which is why they are there. We do require the handler to recognize that he is responsible for the safe and controlled handling his dog at all times while in class
We train by positively reinforcing good behaviors and pointedly correcting bad ones until the dog understands the task at hand. Our instructors will aid you in providing the right correction methods
