SWEET ROXY NEEDS A NEW HOME AND FAMILY Roxy came to us today from Lee County. She was emaciated and her fur feels like straw. She is a sweet (to be spayed) female black and tan GSD weighing in at about 45 pounds. She is one step up from a bag of bones. She was a street stray and probably dumped 3-4 weeks ago. She was probably starving and was picked up by animal control and brought into LCDAS who saved her life.
She was not spayed because of her weight and will be done this coming week. She is HW negative which is a plus but she desperately needs quality nutrition and lots of TLC.
We feel she is going to be a small beautifully marked girl in about 4-5 months of good food and care. She is currently in a foster home awaiting a family. We have tested her with cats and dogs and she did OK until she saw a cat running in front of her at our kennel and barked. She did go nose to nose with a few cats and rabbits at the shelter with zero reaction so the jury is out on compatibility with cats. She does do fine with dogs and is extremely submissive with people and kids. we would recommend her for any household.
Roxy is about 3-4 years old with excellent teeth and good bone structure. She is classic black and tan in color but small. She has had no real training that we can see and would have to go immediately into classes. We are not sure about her being housebroken but we will know in a day or so now that she is in a foster home.
This is one sweet dog who just wants to be loved. If you have the desire to have a great GSD pet, please consider Roxy.
