GUNTHER HAS A HOME AND A JOB Gunther came to us this afternoon through the efforts of some great people at the Port St Lucie shelter. He was there for a considerable amount of time and was about to be euthanized if it were not for the efforts of their tremendous staff and dedicated people. Thank you David for saving him!!!
Gunther is a BIG BOY. He is 128 pounds of muscle and yet he is a great sweet dog. He is a sable male GSD. Gunther is about 2 years old and pretty much untrained. He learns quickly and is a responsive, obedient and an attentive dog. He would make a fantastic 'anything K9" that anyone would like to do with him. From protection to super obedience and from a great family pet to a working dog, Gunther would be your man. He is a bit mothy but no more so that average. He does jump but just wants to get closer to you. He responds to commands and corrections quickly and learns fast. I had him for only 3 hours and he began to respond very well to my voice and corrections. He is a great dog by any standards; from looks to size and from intelligence to love and dedication, he would make a great pet or companion. He needs to go to a home and family that would work him as he is not a sit around dog. If you are not an active family focused on giving Gunther a job, please do not apply for him.
Gunther is HW negative, and he has all shots and he is neutered. He is definitely 10 pounds over weight but that is from inactivity and not his desire to run and play. From what I see he does like to play and has a great drive and focus. Gunther is crate trained and we think that he was someone's dog before being dumped on the street. He has not been tested with house living but is probably easily housebroken with proper training. He was tested with other dogs and after a simple woof, he accepts others. He is not happy about having his toes touched but otherwise he is an easy dog to approach and to pet. He has that intimidating face but after a proper meeting, he is a beautiful spirit and an kind and friendly dog.
If a dog of this size, energy level and type is what you are looking for, Gunther is a great choice.
