PUPPY SARA HAS A NEW HOME AND FAMILY
.
NOW THAT HERE EARS ARE STANDING PERIODICALLY SHE IS DEFINITELY A GSD. Puppy Sara has had a hard 7 months. She was owned by a person who should never had gotten a dog. Once he realized he owned this animal he wanted to dump it as fast as he could, so he gave it to his nephew, a 17 year old boy who was, as well, incapable of owning any animal. The boy treated the dog as it it were trash and moved it from place to place, often times not feeding her or caring for her. Surely he didn't train or socialize her, but remarkably he did get her shots and spayed her. We do know she is HW Negative and is up to date on all shots. She has not been trained at all and knows very little. She does like dogs and people and is obedient at super affectionate. She comes when called and sits on command. She is just a scared little girl who has had to fend for herself for her whole life. She is extremely loving and friendly and responded unbelievably to me when I first approached her. She will bark at you upon a first meeting, but immediately welcomes your touch. She will bark at a new face or event, dog or basically anything new, but after the first woof, she is just fine.
Sara has been with one of our best foster/trainers and is now perfect with all dogs and loves kids. SHE SHOULD GO TO A FAMILY WITH KIDS. She house broken, well behaved, not destructive and friendly. She is a bit mouthy as are many GSD's but super sweet and affectionate.
Sara is black and tan and her ears have not come up as yet. Her ears do come up in the morning and may in fact come up soon, but there is no guaranty of that. It could be they will never come up because the owner played with and broke the ear cartilage while it was forming. We have no idea. Upon examination we did feel that there may be something else in her like a lab, although the photos of her mom and pop were pure GSD's. You can never be sure what was shown was at all accurate or truthful.
What we do know is that she is a good looking dog who will be about 70 pounds and is in good health and extremely trainable and lovable. Even if her ears never stand up, she deserves a good family and a chance at a great life and the right home and family. This sweet little girl deserves to have a good life as she has nothing but love and loyalty to give and asks nothing but the same in return.
If you have a place in your heart for a dog like Sara, please give us a call so you can visit and see if there is a love connection.
Update: Puppy Sara did go into a home for 3 days. She was letter perfect, obedient house broken and super affectionate. She fell in love with the male in the household but their Dobe would have nothing of it and they decided to return her. She did excellent and is absolutely a great dog. they did take her to search and rescue training and after 3 lessons she really started to pick up the technique. Please see if a great puppy like this fits your family!
