HANDSOME MARTY HAS A NEW HOME AND FAMILY I first saw Marty today Tues 3/17 and I was appalled at his condition even for a street stray. It took two of us over 2 hours to clean him up from the 50,000 burrs he had covering his body. We gave him a quick bath and got most of them off before his neuter on Thurs 3/19. He is a really sweet male long hair black and tan GSD. He appears to be about 1.5 years old and untrained. The condition he was in indicates to me he had been on the street for quite some time. He is very gentle and calm and suitable for any family. He let us work on him relentlessly without saying a word and then reached over and gave me a kiss which i will cherish as I was probably the first person ever to be kind to him. I groomed him again today which is what you see today in the photos I took. He is now neutered and in foster care for the next week or so while he heals.
Marty weighs about 65 pounds and can gain some weighty but otherwise he is in really good condition given his life thus far. He has had little to no training and is a compete blank slate. he takes treats softly and has a fabulous temperament. Of course adopting him means training and also showing up for his heart worm shots may 11 and 12. He is a gorgeous dog with beautiful fur, soft eyes, great disposition and likes people and dogs.. Once I got him groomed he looked even more fantastic than I first thought. Marty will be here Thursday after his neuter in foster care. He is HW positive but as our adopters know we will treat at our expense him and he will be perfect. He is amazingly extremely calm with other dogs and people.
