BENJI NEEDS A FOREVER HOME
UPDATE BENJI MET A GREAT LOCAL FAMILY AND WILL BE GOING HOME TODAY, UNFORTUNATELY THEIR DOG AND BENJI DIDN'T SEE EYE TO EYE AND BENJI IS BACK WITH US. HE WAS INTEGRATED INTO OUR PACK OF SEVEN WITHOUT INCIDENT, SO WE BELIEVE THAT IT WAS NOT AT ALL BENJI''S FAULT BECAUSE HE IS A PUSSYCAT. I just evaluated Benji at the shelter and he will be here today Friday 5/16/14. He is a 1.5 year old WHITE MALE GSD. He is neutered and HW Negative.
Benji was a street dump. He was out on the street or in someone's back yard long enough to have some fly bite scars on his ear tips. That is being treated and will return to almost normal in a few months time with care and good nutrition. The healing process is well under way. He is very very calm. He is not at all dog or cat reactive and probably has had some training. He seems that he was housebroken at one time as he did not wish to poop in his kennel. He does not respond to commands until shown what to do, but seemed to know what to do when it was demonstrated on him. Our criteria is temperament and he has a great one and will make a great family dog. After our vet examined him today 5/16 they reported that he has some weakness in his back end but not hip dysplasia and nothing at all debilitating and nothing that time and exercise will not fix. Since that reprt we see that it was simply atrophy from being chained up and we see no leg issues at all. He is a young dog and in reasonably good shape yet 20 pounds underweight. He is a lousy eater. We see nothing but love in this beautiful boy. He weighs in at about 75 pounds and he is definitely underweight for his frame. He will mature into a truly handsome GSD. He has a bit of light brown in his white fur on his back. He is interested i our cats but not reactive to them. He does not have house privileges as yet. He is HW Negative. and he will have all shots and he will be chipped. Benji will be available by Saturday 5/17/14
If you wish to see him, just give me a call at 941 575 243.
