TUCKER NEEDS A NEW HOME
UPDATE 10-10-13
The family giving Tucker up has asked that we put him on hold for a month because he has an ear infection that they wish to clear up before he is released for adoption. I have embedded their email here.
looks like he is staying put!
Good Morning Eric,
I spoke with my boyfriend last night about the family for Tucker. We are so excited that there are families that are interested in him. We are very worried about his ears. He had them treated a week ago and seems as his hearing is not the best right now. We are going to send him back to the vet to have his ears checked again. (They have so sedate him to touch the inside at all). I am not comfortable giving him to a family until his ear problems are cleared up. Can put him on the back burner for now? That will also give him time to go through some training and have his vet work done without stress. I am so thankful for all of your help! This all happened so fast and I was not expecting this, although it is great! Let me know.
WE WILL LEAVE TUCKER ON THE AVAILABLE LIST BUT WE MUST RESPECT THEIR WISHES AND PUT OFF SHOWING HIM FOR 30 DAYS.
Tucker was found in the Tampa area wondering around. Lost and afraid he was taken in by a kind family with multiple dogs and cats. They advertised his face and location but to no avail. They truly love this dog. He was clearly dumped but most of us just cannot comprehend that fact and we are always hopeful the rightful owner will come forward to the rescue...but that never happens. Enough fantasy land....Clearly he was dumped by a moron and now is living the good life with this great family. Unfortunately they just have too many critters to give him the time and attention he needs and have chosen us to find him a new forever home.
Tucker, as they have named him will be evaluated here this week, but will remain in Tampa until the right household is found. Once we find the right family for him he will be transported here to meet them and to go to his new home.
Tucker is about 2 years old. He is in great health but does get ear infections from swimming. He has an active infection now. We are told he loves to swim, so attention must be given to cleaning his ears out with each plunge. These ear infections are easily controlled and with a bit of vigilance they can be avoided. Tucker will be neutered in the coming weeks and will have all of his shots. We will probably chip him at the time of his neuter. He is HW negative and has been on Trifexis for a few months now.
Tucker is a black and tan male GSD with a defined saddle and a handsome face. His ears are erect and he weighs in about 65 pounds. He is a growing boy and we suspect by his appearance that he is about a year or under, but that is hard if not impossible to determine.
Tucker loves kids, to play ball, other dogs, cats are OK but yet an unknown and he dos chase their horses. He is housebroken, eats well, is social, confident and seeks out human and dog attention. He has had some basic training and does come when called, sits and is calm in new situations. We are confident that he is a great fit for a younger family with the time to play ball and run with him. He loves to run with the bike, be outside and mentally engaged. As a young dog he needs to be placed in immediate training and requires the time and focus of his owners. He should be a one dog household, at least at first, because he needs to focus on his owners and training. We recommend a family with high energy, one who wants to take their dog places and do energetic things with him, which he needs.
If Tucker sounds like a match, give us a call at 941 575 0243.
MORE PICTURE TO COME.
