MADDIE HAS A NEW HOME AND FAMILY Maddie has been committed to a family who will be picking her up Next week.... whoopie

We first heard about Maddie today 6/16 but since we are closed for vacation, we could not take here here. She will be at the AWL in Port Charlotte FL for the next few weeks AND she may be adopted directly from the AWL. THEIR WEB SITE IS: http://www.awlshelter.org
The narrative below was received from the person fostering her now. She was found as a stray in LaBelle.

" I can tell you first hand she has the sweetest disposition of any dog I have every known. She gets along with my little rescue terrier and our cat. She is not aggressive over food, toys, bones etc. She is wonderful with our 2 children both 5 and 10. She LOVES to play. I do not have a fenced in yard and I do travel quite a bit so she has been bored as I think she is used to being outside all the time. She loves walks though she does pull on the leash. She is 100% completely house broken. I've left her for up to 7 hrs with no incidences. The only negative thing I can say about her is that she likes to chew although it happens more often when shes been inside all day and is bored. My vet also says he thinks she is between 1-1.5 years old so that is expected. I have already kept her 2 weeks and honestly I am running out of options. She has been given basic care (I wanted to before bringing her into my home with the other animals). This being heart worm test and then given heart worm prevention. She has been given 1 dose of comfortis (poor dear was covered in fleas). Also the basic immunizations (DHLPP, BORDETELLA, RABIES) along with a Fecal exam. So she is ready to be placed in a home if only I could find the right owner. I 100% recommend whoever adopts this dog have a fenced in yard for her to run or they will have to be able to walk her frequently or for a long stretch of time."
"Thanks for talking with me. This is "Maddie".
We found her hanging around our nursery a couple of weeks ago.
Nobody seems to know who she belongs to and she has been checked for a microchip.
We found someone who wanted her but it hasn't worked out because they do not have a fenced yard.
She is extremely sweet and the vet said she is about a year old maybe a little more.
She has had her shots and the vet thought she looked mostly Shepherd.
I don't believe she has been fixed but is heartworm negative.
Let me know what you think. I hoping to bring her somewhere by Thur possibly.
Thank you,"

Once we get her to the AWL she will be spade and chipped and ready to find a new home and family. if you are interested in her please call us at 941 575 0243 or the AWL from 11-4pm daily (7 days a week0 at 941 627 6733.
SHE SOUNDS GREAT AS A FAMILY DOG IF YOU HAVE KIDS AND CATS!
