ALVA HAS A NEW FAMILY We received a call from a great lady who found Alva wondering around in Alva, fl., hence her name. She held her for days but without a chip no one came forward looking for her so she was turned over to us.
Ava is no more than 1 year old. She is black and tan with a defined saddle and masked face AT ABOUT 50 POUNDS...She is just gorgeous!!! She is just as sweet and loving as a dog can be, but getting to know her takes time. She is housebroken, loves our 6 dogs and 2 cats and is eating and drinking well. Her stress is primarily around meeting new people because she does take a day or so to warm up. She is very attached to me, but what's not to like?
She had her bath Tuesday and was spade today 4/18/13. She is chipped and she has gotten all of her shots. She is HW Negative and will need to begin a normal HW preventative process upon adoption.
Since she is 1 year old she will have to be enrolled in training for basic obedience and at least one other socialization course. This may be done with the Peace River Dog Fanciers club, here in town, or by a qualified socialization training center. Any adopter will have to provide us a fully paid receipt from a training facility or give us a check for 2, 6 week classes at PRDFC at a cost of $80 each 6 week class. You will also be asked to agree to show up at these classes or risk us taking her back from you through this contract. We have seen too many adopters fail to complete training and, in effect, breach their contract with us.
Alva has had some training. She walks on a leash perfectly. If my trained dogs did half as well as she does I would be ecstatic.
Alva does know come and is beginning to respond to her name, which of course you can change.... everyone does!
If this exquisite dog fits your family and you are willing to comply with our training requirement, contractually, then give us a call and we will try and place her with your family.
UPDATE 5/1/13 We have found a perfect family for Alva. She is going to make them a great dog and they will give her the home she deserves!
