Below is Moose’s bio.
“
Moose is a 3.5 year old, 105 pound male black and silver German shepherd. He has graduated a 6 week obedience and socialization class, and has been trained with an electric collar. He can do all commands (sit, lay down, stay, heel, come, go to bed, fetch). He is good with other dogs, (Farley approved) has been boarded multiple times with group dog play, goes to the dog park off leash, and loves car rides. We have never seen him interact with a cat. He is neutered, chipped, utd on shots and hw neg.
Moose is an energetic “activity companion”, not a house pet. He is walked off leash with his electric collar 2-3 miles per day, placing his leash on only when passing other dogs on the road/path. He plays long toss fetch each morning for 5-10 throws. He also does 20 minutes of obedience training after one of the walks per day, going through his commands and playing “hide-and-seek” with his toys for his needed mental stimulation. He is released to eat his food, waiting until being told “go ahead”.
He is a wonderful dog and very affectionate/cuddly. He wants to be near you most of the time and comes for pets and belly scratches often. He seems to have a sensitivity to grains (rice and wheat) and have found a sweet potato based food is best for his stomach and #2 consistency. He enjoys veggies as treats (carrots, celery).
He allows the owner to brush his teeth, clean his ears, and clip his nails without issue. He has no fear of vacuums or loud noises.
At the vet we have a muzzle placed on him as when they touch his ears or belly he has growled at them.
He is protective, so if a dog is running at or barking at you nearby he will bark back, or if someone is running towards you especially at night he will bark/growl.
Moose was originally adopted out by me when he was a puppy. He is a truly spectacular dog in need of an active family. His family situation has changed and both mom and dad travel extensively for work and it’s just not a life they want him to have. Their hope is he goes to an active loving family. HE IS AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY
